Cimatti

Cimatti was an Italian bicycle and motorcycle manufacturers.

The company was founded in 1937 by cyclist and Olympian Marco Cimatti in Bologna and initially produced bicycles. In 1950, two-stroke mopeds and scooters were added, then later followed also light weight bikes.

Won between 1966 and 1968 machines from Cimatti three times in a row, the Italian 50 cc Trial Championships. As one of the very few Italian motorcycle manufacturer, the company survived the global economic downturn with manufacturers of small brands in the 60s. In the 70s and 80s, the company produced numerous motorized model series, including the "City Bike" and the slightly larger "town bike ". Were used two-stroke engines from Moto Morini Moto and Minarelli.

Under the subsequent leadership of Enrico Cimatti, son of the company founder, was supplying the now under the name Ditta Cimatti s Cimatti, Enrico SpA common company or the market in the United States, France, Norway and Tunisia.

After an economic downturn at the beginning of the 80s, the company was forced to close in 1984.
