Cinnoline is a heterocyclic aromatic benzofused organic compound having two nitrogen atoms. It is isomeric with phthalazine.

Production

The synthesis of cinnoline possible propylamine via the electrolysis of (2- nitrophenethyl ). The reaction is in this case implemented in a buffered mixture of methanol and water, and supplies cinnoline in moderate yield.
