Cinque Torri

The Cinque Torri ( German: five towers) are up to 2361 m slm high rock formation in the Dolomites in the distance between the Falzaregopass and Cortina d' Ampezzo.

The Cinque Torri consist of steep towers, originally once formed a whole big boulder. The five main towers, the names of donors to Torre Grande, Seconda Torre, Torre Latina, Quarta Torre and Torre Inglese call, also differ names are common. The highest is the 2361 m high Torre Grande, in addition to the main summit Cima Nord also the neighboring tower Cima Sud Ovest and Cima. Early June 2004 is a rugged, 50 m high rock pinnacle called Trephor collapsed due to natural erosion.

The Cinque Torri are a popular destination for hikers and climbers and by numerous routes from the III. Difficulty developed. There are several shelters, including one named after Rifugio Cinque Torri towers ( 2137 m) and the Rifugio Scoiattoli ( 2255 m) in the area.
