Ciro Ferri

Ciro Ferri ( born September 3, 1633 Rome, † September 13, 1689 ) was an Italian painter, draftsman, sculptor and architect.

Ferri was a pupil of Pietro da Cortona and completed after the departure of his master from Florence whose frescoes in the Palazzo Pitti. Later he returned to Rome, where he worked as a painter and architect. He died there in 1689th

His style is related to that of Cortona; round types, superficial color hand signals and a daring hand characterize him.

His most extensive work are the biblical representations in the church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Bergamo. In addition, the Holy Maurus in Sant'Ambrogio della Massima and the cupola paintings in S. Agnese in Rome are worth mentioning, the consummate Corbellini by Ferris death.
