CITIC Plaza

The CITIC Plaza (or Sky Central Plaza ) is a skyscraper in the Chinese city of Guangzhou. With 391 meters, the 80 -story building is one of the highest in the country and the second highest in the city. It was from its completion in 1997 until 2010, the tallest building in the city, but was then surpassed by the 437 -meter-high Guangzhou International Finance Center.

The building is headquarters of CITIC Group, which are the high-rise building its name. At the opening in 1997, it was after the Willis Tower and the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City is the fourth tallest building in the world and is still one of the 20 tallest skyscrapers. His official height of 391 meters is achieved by the metal spikes on the roof. Up to the roof of the building measures 322 meters. The tower is the center of a large, almost entirely rebuilt since about 1995 district - TianHe District - with parks, gardens, sports stadiums and entertainment centers. CITIC Plaza is also surrounded by two associated apartment buildings and from Sky Galleria shopping center.
