Clairaut (crater)

Clairaut is an impact crater in the southern part of the Moon front, southwest of the crater Barocius and west of Breislek. The crater is heavily eroded and the crater rim in the southern entirely overlaid by the secondary craters Clairaut A and B. Clairaut

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the French mathematician Alexis Claude Clairaut.
