Claude Royet-Journoud

Claude Royet - Journoud (* 1941 in Lyon ) is a French poet.

Life

Together with Anne -Marie and Michel Couturier Albiach he was 1963-1970 Co-founder and editor of the journal Siècle à mains. In the 1960s, he began, American poetry translated into French, including works by George Oppen, John Ashbery, Keith Waldrop, Charles Bernstein and Louis Zukofsky. Together with Emmanuel Hocquard he edited two anthologies of American poetry: 21 1: poètes améicains d' aujourd'hui (1986 ) and 49 1: nouveaux poètes américains (1991). Furthermore, he was publisher of the local magazine Zuk, published in the French translations of the works of American poets.

Royet - Journoud work has appeared in magazines such acts, Conjunctions, Temblor, o- blek, New Directions, Moving Letters and Lingo. Some of his works have been translated into English ( by Keith Waldrop ), Greek, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Romanian.
