Claudio Casciolini
Claudio Casciolini ( born November 9, 1697 in Rome, † January 18, 1760 ) was an Italian composer.
His compositions are brevissima a three-part Requiem, the eight-part Zacchee festinans descende and a Missa. From April 1726 to his death as he sang bass in the church of San Lorenzo in Damaso where he also " maestro di cappella " may have been.
He is regarded as a typical representative of the Roman polyphony in the tradition of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina. He created exclusively sacred music, most of them are purely vocal.
