Claudio Lombardi

Claudio Lombardi is an Italian motorsport engineer who was technical director of the Scuderia Ferrari in the 1990s.

Lombardi studied mechanical engineering at the University of Bologna and came over to Fiat Lancia racing department. When Lancia he developed engines for rally cars such as the Delta S4 and the Lancia LC prototypes were utilized in sports car racing. Under Cesare Fiorio team boss Lombardi was Technical Director of Lancia. Together with Fiorio, he joined the end of the 1980s to the Scuderia Ferrari and was after the dismissal of Fiorios 1991 New technical director of Scuderia and has shared the position of team leader with Marco Piccinini. Soon, however, he was replaced in this function by Sante Ghedini. Lombardi returned to motorsport back and was henceforth responsible for the development and construction of Ferrari road cars.
