In 2008 he signed a contract with the Premier League rivals SDC San Antonio, where Jakobsen was intended as a successor to Ivano Balic. A year later he returned to Skjern Håndbold.

Claus Møller Jakobsen has been contested 121 matches for the Danish men's national handball team. At the European Championships in 2002, 2004 and 2006, he won the bronze medal, just like at the World Cup 2007 in Germany.
