Cliff Simon

Cliff Simon ( born September 7, 1962 in Johannesburg) is a South African actor.

Simon is the only son and the youngest of four children of Emmanuelle and Phyllis Simon. In his childhood he was successful both in swimming and in gymnastics. But in order to concentrate on one sport, he has decided in his youth to the sport of swimming. Due to riots in South Africa, the parents emigrated to the United Kingdom. Simon qualified for the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. However, he did not take part and went back to South Africa. While his job at a resort a Turner was looking for a performance. Here began his stage career. After further positions he managed in 1989 to a role as a performer at the Moulin Rouge. Back in Africa, he won a talent contest in 1992 at a casting for the highly successful television series Egoli: Place of Gold, where he starred for six years. In 1997, he married his longtime girlfriend Colette. In 2000 he decided to emigrate to the United States. A wider public he was the role of the cynical alien "god" Ba'al in the Stargate series - known command SG-1.
