Clint Black

Patrick Clinton " Clint " Black ( born February 4, 1962 in Long Branch, New Jersey, USA) is an American country singer. Between 1989 and 1999 he reached with 13 titles, the top of the Billboard Country Songs.

Clint grew up in Texas as the youngest of four brothers. At 15, he learned to play guitar and played soon as the bass guitarist in the band of his brother Kevin. In 1987 he met the guitarist and songwriter Hayden Nicholas know. They began writing songs together and were a year later to make Bill Ham, the manager of ZZ Top, attention. Bill Ham mediated Clint Black in the same year a contract with RCA.

Career

Blacks first single A Better Man reached in 1989 immediately number 1 on the country charts. His shortly thereafter released CD Killin 'Time sold more than two million copies, reaching gold and platinum status. In addition, three more No. 1 singles were released. Black has won numerous awards as Best Album, Best Single, Best Male Vocalist, Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, etc.

The success was repeated a year later with the CD Put Yourself in My Shoes. Once again, more than two million copies were sold, and again there were several single releases that reached top positions. The songwriting duo Clint Black / Hayden Nicholas had arrived after only two years at the top.
