Club-Cola

Club -Cola is the name of several soft drinks, the most well known in the GDR was popular.

At the request of the SED and other government organizations in 1966 its own, the Western models resembling cola drink should be developed from the Leipzig Spring Fair. Then also the first club -Cola was bottled in beverage Kombinat Berlin on 19 April 1967. In the Leipzig Spring Fair 1972, the drink was first awarded Gold in the category of soft drinks and later received additional prizes, which were printed as eight gold colored marks on the black label of the bottle.

Recipe

The taste was quite different from that of other known in the GDR Cola brand, Vita Cola.

Today, another soft drink under the name Club -Cola is available, the composition of which has nothing to do with the recipe used during the communist era. The taste is somewhat similar, but lacks the typical aroma. The trademark rights are currently owned by the company mineral wells Rhön- bubble GmbH. The drink is produced by the parent company in osthessischen Ebersburg and of the subsidiary companies Spreequell mineral springs GmbH in Berlin and mineral springs bath Liebenswerda GmbH.

The selling price was as follows on the pack sizes set binding and has never been changed:

  • EPP 0.42 M (0.33 liter bottle )
