Club de Fútbol Laguna

The Club de Fútbol Laguna was a Mexican football club from the city of Torreón in Coahuila state.

History

Already founded on 16 November 1953 he was the oldest of three clubs from the city of Torreón, which were previously represented in the Primera División. At the same time he was also the first club to which managed the leap into the top tier of the country in the summer of 1968. A year later followed him to the CF Torreón and so the city was represented over a period of five years with two clubs in the first division. Both, however, were moving regularly in the lower table region. His best - and only single digit - Placement succeeded the CF Laguna with ninth place in the 1975 season / 76th

Like his later successor Santos Laguna was the CF Laguna to the county - the comarca Lagunera - named, whose center is the city of Torreón. The name " Laguna " is derived from two - now-dry - lagoons nearby. The city of Torreón describes himself as like " Perla de La Laguna " ( the pearl of the lagoon ) and has this motto integrated into their coat of arms.

After the club was a ten-year membership to the Primera División converted in the summer of 1978 in Deportivo Neza and accordingly replaced in the first division.
