Club DeLisa

Club DeLisa was a jazz club in Chicago in the 1930s to 1950s.

The Club DeLisa ( 5521 S. State Street) existed from 1933 until 1958. He was in possession of four DeLisa brothers and belonged to the 798 Club, Basin Street, El Grotto Supper Club, Harry's Show Lounge, C and C Lounge and The Crown propeller lounge to the clubs of Chicago's South Side ( Bronzeville, South Shore and Woodlawn ). There initially appeared, inter alia, Benny Goodman, Baby Dodds, Jimmy Noone, Billy Eckstine / Earl Hines, Count Basie, LaVern Baker, Chippie Hill and bandleader Red Saunders, who there had a long commitment. A fire broke 1941 the activities, but you put his program in a new building, a New Club DeLisa away soon. Until the 1950s there were still Nappy Brown, Fletcher Henderson, Red Holloway, Lurlean Hunter and Lonnie Simmons. After the death of two DeLisa brothers he was closed down in 1958.
