Coastal Carolina University

Coastal Carolina University (also known as CCU) is an autonomous public university in the city of Conway in the U.S. state of South Carolina near the tourist destination Myrtle Beach. Currently, 8,360 students are enrolled at the university.

History

The Coastal Carolina University was originally founded in 1954 under the name Coastal Carolina Junior College. In the 1970s, it was then converted to a four- year college, however. , As part of the University of South Carolina In 1993, Coastal Carolina University finally was then an independent university.
