The coat of arms of Paraguay consists of the Sello Nacional obverse and the Sello de Hacienda in the lapel. The two sides of the emblem can be found on both sides of the flag of Paraguay again.

History

The first coat of arms of the South American landlocked country in 1812 introduced without specifying its form. 1820, under the rule of José Gaspar Rodríguez de Francia, was released a first version of the emblem in official documents, 1842, the state symbols of Paraguay were in the Ley del Pabellón Nacional by the Congreso General Extraordinario first described.

In 1967, the description of the state symbols of the Constitution of Paraguay, selbiges happened in 1992 installed new constitution. The text of the Constitution stipulates that the properties and the use, as they are not prescribed by the Ley del Pabellón Nacional of 1842, can be defined by new laws. This was since the introduction of the crest numerous variants of the arms, especially the Sello de Hacienda, in use. Finally, the coat of arms was changed in June 2013, by changes from the Stroessner era were discarded.

Description

The Sello Nacional in its usual form today is the round white shield a ring with an inscription in black capital letters: " República del Paraguay ". Surrounded is a five-pointed yellow star to the right of a green palm branch and to the left of a green olive branch.

The current use of the variant Sello de Hacienda shows a spear with a Phrygian cap holding lions under the inscription " Paz y Justicia " ( " Peace and Justice" ).
