Coats of arms of Portuguese colonies

On June 8, 1935 all Portuguese colonies received their own coat of arms, whose design was made ​​uniform.

The coats of arms listed here were also performed in a large version of the coat of arms of the respective colonial governments. It consisted of the sign in a golden armillary sphere with a crown of five towers, four signs stood with the Cross of the Order of Christ and five small armillary spheres on the towers and a banner banner on the " government " ( Governo de ) and the name of the colony.

The Banner of the Great Seal of 1935 stood each of the official name of the colony, beginning with " Colonia Portuguesa ". 1951, the colonies were converted into overseas provinces. According to the official name in the banner now started with " provinces. Portuguesa ".
