Coeur Mining

Coeur Mining (formerly Coeur d' Alene Mines, NYSE: CDE, TSX: CDM ) is the largest U.S. silver producer, headquartered in Chicago ( Illinois). In addition to silver, the company also promotes gold.

Company History

The company was founded in 1928. The IPO on the New York Stock Exchange ( NYSE ) was 1990. Since July 2011, Mitchell J. Krebs President and CEO, succeeding Dennis E. Wheeler, who led the company for nearly 25 years.

In 2013 the headquarters of Coeur d' Alene (Idaho ) moved to Chicago, and the company name was changed from " Coeur d' Alene Mines " in " Coeur Mining".

Curiosities

According to the company, missed accidentally, payable on September 1, 2011 for the Rochester Mine a mature mining maintenance fee to the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. As a consequence, a subsidiary of the competitor Rye Patch Gold at the Sixth District Court (Nevada ) submitted a restraining order with the content, to prohibit the company, " the unpatented mining claims of Rye Patch Project Rochester, where Rye Patch owns all rights, carry out activities for the exploration and exploitation of natural resources. "When reason given was that due to the non-payment of annual mining maintenance fees, the legal claim was forfeited to the mining concession and thus any citizen or any U.S. companies as of right the way have the legal right by to obtain staking unpatented mining claims in the open state land. Rye Patch Gold has the open floor explored in the episode and started the localization of 402 unpatented mining claims in October and November 2011. The district court did, however, prohibited the company to perform in the immediate vicinity of the Rochester Mine exploration activities.
