Colcamar District

Colcamar is a Peruvian district in the province of Luya in the region of the Amazon. The district capital is Colcamar.

The village feast of Colcamar takes place on 24 September. In Chuquichaca you can see the " Virgin of Chuquichaca ", a statue of the Virgin Mary, who is revered by the local and regional population.

In the north, the district borders the district Colcamar Inguilpata ( Luya ), to the east by the province of Chachapoyas, on the southeast by the District Tingo ( Luya ), on the southwest by the district Longuita ( Luya ) and on the east by the district Ocumal ( Luya ).

The main entrance to district Pisuquía is the market in Yumal ( Minas ) in the district Colcamar, where the road ends.

Most of the district lies in the mountains, some villages are also on the river Utcubamba, for example Chuquichaca and Shipamarca.
