Cold (Band)

Cold is an American band from Jacksonville, Florida.

Band History

The band was founded in 1996 by Scooter Ward and Sam McCandless under the name of Grundig. Because of disputes with the German company Grundig AG, they named themselves around in Cold. When Fred Durst became aware of it he took them under contract. The first self-titled album was released in 1998 on Fred Durst's A & M Records, which was later acquired by Geffen Records.

2000 appeared the follow-up album 13 Ways to Bleed on Stage. It was sold very successfully in the U.S., four singles were released.

The third album Year of the Spider appeared again in 2003 on Geffen. 2003/2004 left the two guitarists Terry Balsamo ( Evanescence now ) and Kelly Hayes the band. They were replaced by Eddie Randini (Darwin 's Waiting Room ) and Matt Loughran ( ex Grundig).

Mid-2004, left the band in their old label Geffen and signed to Atlantic Records.

On 10 August 2005, the fourth and so far last album A Different Kind of Pain has been published.

After a first separation and reunion in the spring of 2006, the band announced in November 2006 its final separation known. According to Scooter Ward but he wanted to let Cold alive. It was his project The Killer and the Star. In 2009 there was a reunion of the band. The latest album " Super Fiction " was released in summer 2011.

Scooter Ward founded after the end of Cold the project The Witch, which was later renamed When November Falls. The first album The Series of Emotion should appear in the fall of 2007. The release date is so far, however, still unknown.

In early 2008 the band named Scooter in The Killer and the Star again around.
