Colin Keir

Colin Keir ( born December 9, 1959) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish National Party. Keir attended the Mount Craig High School and Stevenson College. He was then held positions at Office Supplies trade and then at a bus company. Parallel Keir was elected to the town council of Edinburgh. In addition, he was Scottish champion in 5000 -meter cross-country race.

For the first time Keir joined the Scottish Parliament elections in 2011 to be national elections. In his constituency Edinburgh Western, he won at first the highest share of the vote and thus replaced the Labour politician Margaret Smith, who was able to achieve the mandate of the predecessor constituency of Edinburgh South since the first parliamentary elections in 1999 for themselves. Since 2011, Keir is thus for the first time a member of the Scottish Parliament.
