Collabtive

Collabtive is a web based project management software.

Unlike proprietary collaboration tools, such as Base Camp is Collabtive developed as open source software and can be used on its own servers. Alternatively, there are hosting services, where the project management software is used as a SaaS.

The development of Collabtive began in November 2007.

Properties

Collabtive is completely written in object-oriented PHP 5. It uses the Smarty template engine, which allows an easy adaptation of the interface to suit individual needs. Collabtive uses an intuitive interface, which is enriched with Ajax elements. The software supports distributed teams when working with projects, milestones and tasks. In addition, files can be managed and calls are made via internal mail system or instant messaging. The software provides options for time recording. Furthermore, it is possible for each user to let the surface show in one of the available translations. Collabtive supports more than 35 languages.
