Colombey-les-Deux-Églises
Colombey -les -Deux- Églises is a commune with 668 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haute -Marne, in the Champagne -Ardenne region.
Location
Colombey situated at an altitude of 350 m and 27 km northwest of Chaumont (Haute- Marne) on the border of the Aube. According to Bar-sur -Aube is 15 km, 260 km to Paris.

Famous the place was Charles de Gaulle, who died there on his longtime country residence La Bois series on November 9, 1970, after he had retired in April 1969 as the first president of the Fifth Republic from politics. He was born on November 22, 1890 in Lille.

As a memorial to the General was erected in 1972 a large Cross of Lorraine granite. The Cross of Lorraine was a sign of the French government in exile during World War II. Inscription texts:
