Colón Island

The Colón Island (Spanish Isla Colón ) is one of seven major islands in the archipelago of Bocas del Toro in the eponymous province of Bocas del Toro on the north coast of Panama.

It is only just under an hour plus a half hour by water taxi from the border of Costa Rica removed on entering the most tourists. Colón is the Spanish name for Columbus who "discovered" the main island and einrichtete an aid station here. The capital of the island and of the archipelago is Bocas del Toro. Its architecture was based in a colonial style with many western French and Spanish elements. After deduction of the management and decision of the banana company to relocate the main office to Changuinola, many homes out of necessity been neglected, vacant disrepair.
