Commandant of the Coast Guard

The Commandant of the Coast Guard ( Engl.: "Commandant of the Coast Guard ") is the highest-ranking member of the U.S. Coast Guard and (today) whose only ( 4 star ) admiral. His appointment to a four-year term in office must be legitimized by the Senate of the United States, the appointment is made by the President of the United States. The office has existed since 24 December 1889.

Current incumbent is since May 25, 2010 Admiral Robert J. Papp Jr..

Vice Commandant of the Coast Guard Vice Admiral Sally Brice is currently O'Hara.
