Commercial Bank of Eritrea

The Eritrean Commercial Bank is the only bank institution in Eritrea with full services for retail stores.

It is a government-owned bank with 17 branches throughout the country. The Bank has made financial arrangements with Citibank for the international money transfer, recently also with Deutsche Bank.

History

As the former province Eritrea got its independence from Ethiopia in 1993, it took over the offices of the Eritrean Ethiopian Commercial Bank.

It was formally established in 1994 as a commercial bank and Eritrean officially certificated as an institution.
