Commins Menapi

Commins Menapi (born 18 September 1977) is a Solomon Islands footballer who is currently active for Marist FC in the Solomon's first league. He is also a national player of the Solomon Islands.

Career

1998-1999 played the striker at Marist FC in his home country, in 1999, he moved to Nelson Suburbs in New Zealand. 2000 to 2004 he was with Sydney United under contract and playing in the Australian A -League 66 times, where he scored 19 goals, 2005, he played for the St. George Saints, and then moved for a year to Young Heart Manawatu. From 2007 to 2008 he played for Waitakere United. In the final of the OFC Champions Cup he was the first player who was sent off in the history of the competition.

For Solomon's national football team Menapi made ​​his debut in 2000. He was a member of the most successful national team in the Solomon Islands, which was the first to move into the relegation round against Australia in qualifying for the World Cup 2006. He also scored a historic 2-2 draw against Australia both goals. Overall Menapi denied 24 caps and scored 13 goals. He is top scorer in his country.
