Common hepatic artery

The common hepatic artery ( " Common hepatic artery ") is an artery of the abdominal cavity in the area of the upper abdomen. She is one of the three main branches of the celiac trunk.

The common hepatic artery divides shortly after leaving in two main branches:

  • The hepatic artery supplies liver, gallbladder, and the lesser curvature of the stomach.
  • The gastroduodenal artery supplies the greater curvature of the stomach, duodenum, large network and the pancreas.

In about one third of cases in humans arises from the artery gastric artery directly from the common hepatic artery.
