Communote

Communote is a Java-based communication solution for project and team- oriented company. The micro- blogging tool was published in December 2008. The difference between public micro-blogging services, such as Twitter is that Communote focuses on the internal corporate use. Similar to Twitter users can share news about their current activities with their peers.

Communote is available in version 2.0 and provides the following functions:

  • LDAP authentication, SSL encryption, HTTPS, IP ranges
  • Mobile Access with iPhone, Android and BlackBerry

The tool is available as online service as well as in-house installation.

In contrast to other Web 2.0 applications, including other micro-blogging tools Communote based on the Java EE technology and is designed for a classic software engineering approach.

Business

Communote was developed at the beginning of the Communardo Software GmbH from Dresden. The Communardo Software GmbH is a provider of software solutions for the optimization of communication and collaboration in teams, projects and companies. Since early 2012, there is the Communote GmbH, which focuses exclusively on the development and marketing of Communote.
