Jaiku

Jaiku was an application for micro- blogging. It has also been defined as a social network or a mostly publicly accessible diary on the Internet. Individuals, organizations, businesses and mass media took Jaiku as a platform for the dissemination of short text messages on the internet. Jaiku was introduced to the public in February 2006 and quickly gained international popularity.

The company was acquired by Google Inc. in 2007. In October 2011 it was announced that the service January 15, 2012 will be adjusted. Google wants to focus on the social network Google so more.

Then Google has the software, ran with the Jaiku, released as open source under the Apache License 2.0.
