Compacta (typeface)

The Compacta is a sans serif font from the year 1963. The font was designed by the typographer Fred Lambert for the British company Letraset.

Origin and use

The Compacta has been the first self-designed font of Letraset company. Its design is strongly influenced by the old British advertising posters of the 1920s and 1930s. The Compacta it is possible to put a lot of text for headings in a limited space. In Germany, the font was especially known by the logo of the Red Army Faction.
