Concrete Sox

Concrete Sox are an English hardcore band. It is one of the pioneers of the grindcore scene in the UK.

Band History

Founded Concrete Sox in 1982 as a straight-edge band of John March ( drums, vocals ), Les Duly (bass) and Victor Timoveric (guitar) in Nottingham. The first recording of the group was the piece Eminent Scum on the sampler Anglican Scrape Attic, which appeared at Earache Records in 1985. The song, the group shows that, as the 1985 demo stylistically closer to the hardcore punk and Crustpunk as the Straight Edge. The following year, the debut album Your Turn Next appeared. In the wake of the shooting of a split LP with Heresy joined drummer and singer John March 1987 Heresy and was replaced by Sean Cook ( vocals) and Andy Sewell (drums). Shortly afterwards, the group moved to Manic Ears Records, where in the same year the second album Whoops Sorry Vicar! appeared. Bassist Les Duly left the band and was replaced by Calvin " Kalv " Piper of Heresy. Before the release of the third album Sewerside left with Victor Timoveric 1989, the last founding member of the band. For the upcoming tour with Doom session guitarist Rick button was hired in 1990 was Mark Greenwell solid guitarist. In this cast Concrete Sox opened in 1992 for Agnostic Front. 1993 appeared the fourth album No World Order. From line-up changes drawn, the band dissolved in the late 1990s after the release on an EP. While trying Victor Timoveric 2009 comeback tour, but failed. Currently he is working on new songs.
