Condatis

Condatis, also Condates, was a Celtic god who was especially worshiped in Britain. In the interpretatio romana he is equated with the Roman god Mars.

Etymology and meaning

The name derives from the Celtic word Condatis Condate, the " confluence " means from. The corresponding place name Condate is widespread, especially in Gaul for settlement at the confluence of two waters. The inscriptions from Cramond ( suburb of Edinburgh), Bowes in Yorkshire, at Piercebridge Darlington (North East England ) and Chester -le-Street in Durham every time identify him to me the god Mars.
