Conger

Conger cinereus

Conger is a genus of the family of conger eels ( congers ). Among the species of this genus include some of the largest eels, some reach a total length of up to three meters.

Features

It is snake-like fish with a pointed snout and flattened head. The terminal mouth does not reach the posterior margin of the well developed and covered by skin eye, the lower jaw fits, more or less well in the upper jaw into it. The teeth forming a cutting edge on the sides of the mouth. The lateral line organ is well developed. Most species are on the back monochrome gray or brown with silvery or white belly.
