Conoco Inc. was an oil company, which was founded in 1875 as the Continental Oil and Transportation Company.

1981 Conoco was acquired by DuPont, but in 1999 again separated from Conoco. 2002 Conoco merged with Phillips Petroleum Company to ConocoPhillips. The brand name Conoco but will continue to function.
