Conrad I, Duke of Merania

Conrad I of Meranien ( Konrad II of Dachau) († February 8, 1159 ) was a son of Conrad I of Scheyern - Dachau ( Dachau). His mother was Willibirg of Krain - Orlamünde.

Life

In 1153 he is known as Duke of Meranien. He was the first from the ancestral line of the Wittelsbach dynasty, which fell to a Duke office.

Family

Konrad was twice married

  • After 1139 with Adelheid von Limburg ( † before February 6, 1146 ).
  • Udilhild (or Matilda ) of Falkenstein, daughter of Count Rudolf von Falkenstein

From the marriage two children were born ( the assignments to mothers is not possible ):

  • Hedwig of Dachau († 1174/76 )
  • Conrad III. Dachau († October 8, 1180 /82)
