Conrad Letzkau

Conrad Letzkau (Polish: Konrad Leczkow, † 1411 ) was from 1396 councilor and from 1405 to 1411 one of the mayor of the Gdańsk City law.

Letzkau 1398 was involved in the expedition of the fleet of the Teutonic Knights against the Viktualienbrüder on Gotland.

After losing the Order of Battle of Tannenberg (1410 ) Danzig opened the Polish king. However, the new Grand Master, Heinrich von Plauen the Elder was able to prevent a collapse of the Teutonic state and solidify its rule. It was Letzkau, was executed along with two other representatives of the city, Arnold Pike and Alderman Bartholomew Grosse, 1411.

The role Letzkaus was represented differently. For Danziger ( Daniel Gralath ) he was a martyr for independence, for trailers (John Voigt, Heinel ) of the Order is a traitor to his country, Poland is Leczkow as blood witness that the city was Polish and was suppressed by the German knights.

Letzkaus grave and well-preserved grave plate is located in the immediate vicinity of the main altar of St. Mary's Church.
