Ernst Wichert

Ernst Wichert ( born March 11, 1831 in Insterburg, East Prussia, † January 21, 1902 in Berlin) was a German writer and lawyer.

Life

Ernst Wichert attended secondary school in pillau and later the Kneiphöfische Gymnasium in Königsberg. As a student of law at the Albertus University of Königsberg, he was a member of the progressivist fraternity Palmburgia. After the assessor time in Memel he was sheriff in 1860 Prökuls (now in Lithuania). Three years later he came back as a city judge to Königsberg, where he (according to other sources 1879) High Court Judge was at the High Court Königsberg in 1877 and received an honorary doctorate. From the Three Emperors 1888 Wichert was as Kammergerichtsrat in Berlin. In 1896 he went as a Privy Councillor in retirement.

The poet lawyer - known as "the poet and judge" - was co-editor of Old Prussian monthly magazine and co-founder of the German cooperative dramatic authors and composers who in 1871 founded in Leipzig in life.
