Conrad Willgerodt

Conrad Heinrich Christoph Willgerodt ( born November 2, 1841 in Harlingerode, † December 19, 1930 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German chemist.

Willgerodt was an academic student of Adolf Claus and became a professor at the Albert- Ludwigs- University of Freiburg. Named after him is the Willgerodt - Kindler reaction for the conversion of aliphatic-aromatic ketones to carboxylic acids.

1888 Willgerodt was appointed a member of the Leopoldina.
