Constantin Șerban

Constantin Şerban Basarab (called the obliquity; * before 1654, † 1682 in Poland) was ruler of the principality of Wallachia, on April 19, 1654 to January 26, 1658 Prince of Moldova in November 1659 and from 31 January 1661 to the February 1661.

Life

Constantine was the son of Radu Şerban ( Wallachia ) and a descendant of the family of Basarab and Craiovescu (Cl. Wallachia ). In 1644 he was Serdar ( leader of the mounted troops ) and fought in Transylvania for Rakoczy ( there he had been sent by Matei Basarab with 6,000 soldiers ). His farm was located in the village Dobreni, where there are the church and the Konak in ruins today.

Prince, he was using the Transylvanian voivode Rakoczy. Whose help he needed also to put down the rebellion of 1655 " Seimeni " mercenaries at simpleâ on Teleajen, which was led by his rival Prince Hrizea. Precisely because of this uprising, and that the " Dorobanti " units at the same time ( " Seimeni " and " Dorobanti " had Wallachia coated with arson ) lost Basarab the support of the boyars, but also of the common people. In May 1660 came to Bucharest to another battle with Ghica, who was now prince of Wallachia ( 1659-60 ). His wife was the Bălaşa, the daughter of Nico Stolnic pool. Basarab died in 1682 in Poland.
