Constantine Jacob Erdman

Constantine Jacob Erdman ( born September 4, 1846 in Upper Saucon, Pennsylvania, † January 15, 1911 in Allentown, Pennsylvania ) was an American politician.

Erdman was born in 1846 in Upper Saucon, an institution situated in Lehigh County near Allentown Township. He studied law at the Pennsylvania College in Gettysburg, and completed his studies in 1865. In 1867 he was admitted to the legal profession and practiced in Allentown. 1874 Erdman to the district attorney ( district attorney ) was chosen. During the railroad strike of 1877, he served in the fourth regiment of the National Guard of Pennsylvania.

Erdmann was in 1892 elected as a Democrat to Congress and represented the state of Pennsylvania March 4, 1893 to March 3, 1897 U.S. House of Representatives. In 1896, he opted not to run again and returned to the end of his mandate back to Allentown, there to practice again. He was also a curator at Muhlenberg College and President of the Coplay Cement Manufacturing Co., of Allentown and Coopersburg Turnpike Co. and Allen Fire Insurance Co.. Erdmann died in 1911 in Allentown and was buried in the Fairview Cemetery.

Constantine Jacob Erdman was the grandson of Jacob Erdman.
