Constantine Leichoudes

Patriarch of Constantinople Opel. He was a disciple of John Mauropous, later minister to the Emperor Michael V., Protovestiarius. Isaac Komnenos appointed the layman Constantine 1059 as Patriarch of Constantinople Opel after Patriarch Michael I Kerularius had died in exile in Prokonnesus. He was a close friend of the historian Michael Psellos, but this was in the monastery of Narsou instruct on the western edge of Constantinople Opel, when he was accused of having neglected his oath as a monk.

Descendants of Leichoudes were the Russian philosopher Joan Niki Lichud and Sophronius Lichud.
