Constitution of Australia

The Constitution of Australia consists of various laws, which together constitute the Constitutional laws of the Commonwealth of Australia.

The main ingredients are the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act 1900, the Statute of Westminster Adoption Act 1942, which was adopted the Statute of Westminster of 1931, and the Australia Act 1986.

The Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act 1900 is still a statute enacted by the British Parliament Act, which took effect January 1, 1901 in force and the independent colonies under the crown of England to the Commonwealth of Australia merged.

Also, the Statute of Westminster 1931 is an Act of the British Parliament. It spawned the greatest measure of independence of the Dominions of the British Empire. The Statute of Westminster Adoption Act 1942 is an act of the Australian Parliament, with the Statute of Westminster was adopted formally. With the Australia Act of the Australian Parliament from 1986 and a previous corresponding act of the British Parliament of 1985, the last restrictions were lifted.
