Consus was one of the many small gods of Roman religion. He was the god of the harvested crop. His altar was near the Circus Maximus, as the stored crop, underground, and was excavated only during Consus ' festivals.

His festivals, called Consualia were celebrated on August 21, after the grain sowing and on 15 December after the harvest. At the feasts horse, mule and donkey races were organized mainly because the donkey was the sacred animal of Consus. In addition, animals used were decorated in agriculture.

According to legend, Consus was the god who Romulus gave the Council on the Rape of the Sabines.
