Continued Reformed Churches in the Netherlands

The Continued Reformed Church in the Netherlands ( Dutch: Voortgezette Gereformeerde Kerken in Nederland) is a Dutch church covenant, which was established on 8 May 2004.

Reasons for the re-establishment

When the Reformed Church in the Netherlands went up in the Protestant Church in the Netherlands ( PKN ) on 1 May 2004, seven local municipalities could not come to terms with the new church order. Their main concerns were based on pluralism ( the coexistence of different interpretations of the Christian faith ) and the fact that the local Reformed churches in the PKN from 1 May 2014 ( 10 years after the founding ) lose the right, while keeping their finances and buildings emerge from the church covenant. These communities founded on 8 May 2004 in Garderen the Voortgezette Gereformeerde Kerken in Nederland. The vGKN consists of 7 municipalities and has 2922 members (as of end of 2009).
