Convento de Santa Cruz do Buçaco

The Convento de Santa Cruz do Buçaco is a former monastery of the Order of Discalced Carmelites in Luso (Portugal).

It was built in 1628-1630 in the forest above the town ( Mata do Buçaco ) and managed to closure of the monastery in 1834.

During the Battle of Buçaco in September 1810, the monastery was the commander of the Anglo- Portuguese army as Wellington accommodation. During the construction of the royal palace above the monastery, today Palácio Hotel do Buçaco were demolished in 1888 parts of the Convention.

1943 was classified as de Imóvel interest Público.
