The Copenhagen Business School (. CBS, formerly - Copenhagen Business School, dän: Handelshøjskolen i København) was founded in 1917 as a private institution. The university was established in 1965 a part of the national education system and is now regulated by the University Act of 2003.

The university has approximately 15,000 students and 900 employees, making it one of the largest business schools in Northern Europe. In addition, it takes a year to around 1,000 exchange students. Divided they had until December 31, 2006 in two faculties: the business faculty and the faculty of language, communication and culture. On 1 January 2007, the two colleges were merged.

The Copenhagen Business School is one of the leading business schools in Europe, which is confirmed by various rankings. So it is conducted in Eduniversal ranking in the Global Business Schools in 2nd place behind Harvard. The CBS is also Danish CEMS member (The Global Alliance in Management Education ) and accredited by the Association of MBAs ( AMBA ) and the European Quality Improvement System ( EQUIS ). Since 2011, the CBS is also AACSB accredited and thus one of 43 business schools worldwide that hold the Triple Crown ( Higher Education Accreditation) are.

The main part of the university building is located in Frederiksberg, a city that is completely surrounded by Copenhagen. Lectures will be held in the new buildings at Solbjerg Plads, Dalgas Have, Kilen and Porcelænshaven.

The CBS is offering includes 17 bachelor's, 10 candidate studies, 10 executive master's programs and doctoral programs. Since 2009, the CBS is also associated with two new elite Danish master programs, one of which is carried out in cooperation with the University of Copenhagen. In addition, there is an Open University and a Summer University program.
