The Trifoliate gold thread ( Coptis trifolia ) is a species of the genus in the family Ranunculaceae Coptis ( Ranunculaceae ).

Features

The Streifenfarnblättrige gold thread is a perennial, herbaceous plant that reaches the plant height to 10 inches. It forms a light yellow to orange rhizome. The leaves are trifoliate. The leaves are sessile or shortly stalked and weakly lobed or unlobed. The inflorescence is flowered. The bloom are white. The nectar leaves are spoon-shaped and yellow. The pens are probably the Fruit time 2 to 4 millimeters long. The follicles have on both sides at any longitudinal nerve.

The flowering period extends from May to June.

Occurrence

The species occurs in temperate warm to cool North America, the Far East and East Siberia. It grows in moist forests, tundras and swamps at altitudes 0-1500 meters.

Use

Rarely the Trifoliate used gold thread as an ornamental plant for rock gardens, mud beds, groups of trees and ground cover. He at least since 1782, is in culture.
