Çorlu

Çorlu (Latin Caenophrurium, Greek Tυρολόη ) is a town in the province of Tekirdag in East Thrace in Turkey with 200 577 inhabitants. It is located about 90 km west of Istanbul.

Lucius Domitius Aurelianus The Roman Emperor was buried 275 in Caenophrurium after a deadly attack.

Çorlu is now one of the fastest growing industrial cities in Turkey and is characterized by numerous textile mills and food industry. Çorlu also has its own airport, the Tekirdağ Çorlu Airport.

At the edge of town, next to the railway line, you can still see the remains of a Byzantine fortress.
